Copyright guidelines
Last updated June 2026
We want this education to reach people. These guidelines explain how you may use our work, and the limits we ask you to respect.
Our content is copyrighted
All original materials on this site, including our videos, show notes, written pages, guides, and social posts, are copyright Self Principle Inc, all rights reserved. You may not republish, sell, or build a product on our content without written permission. The limited uses below are welcome and do not need to be requested.
What you may do without asking
Link to any page or video. Quote a short passage with credit. Share our videos and free guides with a patient, a family member, or a free community class. In each case, credit SELF Principle and link back to the original.
What needs written permission
Republishing our content in full, using it in anything people must pay for, using it to promote or sell a product, or using it to train a commercial product or model. Ask first, and we will often say yes for educational uses.
Our name, logo, and Dr. Hashmi's likeness
The SELF Principle name and logo, and Dr. Hashmi's name, image, likeness, and voice, are not covered by the limited permission above. Using any of those requires written permission. This matters more than it sounds: a physician's name and face attached to a product implies a medical endorsement, and we do not endorse products.
No implying endorsement
Do not state or suggest that SELF Principle or Dr. Hashmi endorses you, your product, your service, your organization, or your views. Do not build a site or service that mainly republishes our content.
No synthetic media
You may not use our audio, video, images, or writing to generate synthetic media that uses or imitates Dr. Hashmi's voice, face, or likeness. No voice clones, no deepfakes, no AI-generated video or audio that could reasonably be mistaken for him. This is not negotiable. A fabricated clip of a physician appearing to recommend a treatment can genuinely harm someone.
Do not distort the evidence
If you edit our content in a way that changes what the evidence actually says, we will ask you to take it down. Clipping a caveat out of a claim is the most common way this happens.
If something goes wrong
If we find a use that breaks these guidelines, we will contact you first and try to sort it out. If that does not work, or if there is a pattern, we may take further action.
Questions and permissions
To request permission for a commercial use, or to use the SELF Principle name, logo, or Dr. Hashmi's name or image, use the contact form and choose Media or speaking request.
